Here’s What Jaya Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Manveer Gurjar Have To Say On Salman Khan’s Conviction
Salman Khan has entered the Jodhpur Central Jail and will be spending the night in prison. Bollywood celebs took to social media to talk about the verdict. Here's what some of them had to say:


Jaya Bachchan said to the media, "I feel bad. He should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian work (sic)."


Arjun Rampal tweeted, "The law takes its course. Can’t argue it. But at this point in time I just feel helpless and my heart goes out to @BeingSalmanKhan and his family. Reason, cause the last thing @BeingSalmanKhan is, is a criminal.I feel this is too harsh. I do hope he gets the relief he deserves (sic)." 


Manveer Gurjar tweeted, "वाह रे क़ानून! Rape और Murder के Victims चक्कर पर चक्कर लगाते रहते है उनका कोई Insaaf नहीं। एक आदमी @BeingSalmanKhan जो कितनी Charity और Proper टैक्स भरता है। उसको 20 साल पहले Incident के लिये फँसा रखा है! #IStandWithSalmanKhan #BlackBuckPoachingCase (sic)."


Sona Mohapatra penned, "So, what new inane defence will Madhu Kishwar sprout now? Nafisa Ali? RJ Rishi Kannan? Will daddy say sorry on his behalf? What will the suck ups in the industry do? When's bail? When's the next block buster release? Dabangg'concert' tour dates? Big Boss? Charity drives? 🤔 (sic)."


Subhash Ghai wrote, "I am extremely shocked to hear @BeingSalmanKhan being convicted by session court but  also having full trust in indian judiciary which has many other doors to appeal for final justice whatsoever. Since He is most loved person by industry N people for his human reasons too (sic)." 


Kamya Punjabi tweeted, "Ek jaanwar ka shikaar aur 20saal tak case!!! Ek insaan ki jaan chali gayi aur 2 saal tak trail bhi shuru nahi hua.. maa baap court aur police station ke chakkar kaat rahe hai.. insaaf chahiye unhe hahahahaha pagal hai bechare!!! #ISTANDWITHSALMAN #STILLFIGHTINGFORPRATYUSHA (sic)."

Coming to talk of the case, Salman, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari had reached Jodhpur yesterday for the verdict. The Jodhpur trial court eventually convicted Salman, while acquitting others.

There are two others who are accused in the case -- travel agent Dushyant Singh and Dinesh Gawre, Salman's assistant at the time. Gawre is still absconding.

It is said that Salman and some of his co-stars from Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) allegedly went on a hunt and killed an endangered species of blackbuck. This happened when the crew was shooting for a segment of the film in Jodhpur. There were mass protests by the Bishnoi community of the area, and finally a case was lodged against the actors.
